Local Roots
Big Bear is the oldest apparel supply company in Muskoka, Algonquin Park & the Lake of Bays Area.
Huntsville has always been our home. My family has been in business here for generations and not just in the apparel industry. We sold automobiles, snowmobiles, horses, cows, baked goods, manufactured auto parts, served on town council including mayor etc. and for over 30 years we have been in the clothing business. Even my sister-in-law is in the apparel business right here in our town (baggypants.ca) My wife and I first met, were married and raised our children here. It is an amazing community.
In-House Manufacturing
We have manufactured for major clothing brands like American Eagle, Harley Davidson, Indian Motorcycle, Roots, Champion, etc. Every customer wanting the same thing, our hoodies and ¼ zips.
We continue to manufacture apparel here while importing some specific styles. We design, embroider and screen print 100% of our items in Huntsville Ontario Canada.
If you have visited Algonquin Park, a brewery in Muskoka, a local retailer or relaxed at one of the amazing resorts, you may be wearing our clothing. We have developed many custom label programs for customers in Muskoka.
I have made more mistakes in business than I can count, especially in the early years, but I wouldn’t trade this life for anything. We are so proud of our brand, our incredible team and the beautiful town we live in.
